A few select pictures from Saturday’s hike up Mt. Defiance in the Gorge.

Weather was beautiful.

Mt. Defiance sounds more enticing than Starvation Ridge.

Kyle – Thank you for the comment. I can’t say it really is. Mt. Defiance is pretty much a brutal trainer (5000 ft. elevation gain up and then down) for mountains like Hood. It’s almost “unrecreation”. The views do open up right on the beginning and finally again at the top…if you like forest it can be scenic. I have yet to hike Starvation Ridge, looking forward to it. Any insights? Thanks, jb
