Negotiations

03/14/2011

I caught this one after reading a different article on All Things Digital, makes me wish Peter Kaufman would write more often –

By default of my own core values, I always consider the long term.

Here is the quote that I like from the post –

“Good will and occasional restraint by the stronger party can go a long way to salve the pain of accepting unpopular deal points by the weaker player. You’re not looking for a love fest here; merely a path towards building trust over subsequent negotiations.”

The simplest lessons can be gleaned from what could seem like a most mundane moment…picking out pumpkins with your kids.
